Happy Dashain to all of our wonderful friends

Kopila will write a post very soon about the MANY things going on here right now.  There is much planning, talking, dreaming and not a little hullaballoo! While you wait, here are some photos from our wonderful Dashain celebration.  We gathered together, ladies, children, Board members, program coordinators,  our currently resident wandering Australian, and, for a time, the second-hand weighing machine salesman and his helper.Gopal told a joke, some of us ate momos, all of us ate sweets and lovely new Sita made us sweet milky chiya to share.  For some, the most precious moments of this day were seeing the transformation that we all had experienced.  (Even the second-hand weighing machine salesman was interested in what was happening here!)  Each one of us has changed as a result of being involved with one another.  We have learnt so very  much about life and love and generosity and the power of hope.  We have learnt about equality and respect and wisdom.  The children here were carefully watching and listening.  Learning that men and women can relate in positive and respectful ways; that the sad things they may have witnessed at home are not true of all relationships and that there is always the possibility of change.  Happy Dashain from all of us here at Samunnat.
