A quick post from Birtamod where there is a pleasant chill in the air and where the skies are sometimes clear enough to see the mountains when you head out of town a little way!We took a day off from our bead production for another long awaited day yesterday when we met with 8 travelling Australians who came to visit us on their Colourful Journey.  Many of them are artists back in Australia so our time together was a real creative exchange.  We all learnt a lot from each other...as is always what happens.  We loved to welcome them and share with them about Samunnat and they asked many questions about how we are doing things. They arrived in a long line of rickshaws and many of our friends told us they had seen them coming along the streets.  Travellers from overseas are rare in Birtamod!  We welcomed them with flowers and told them thank you for bringing some supplies with them. We worked with them in pairs and each pair was so happy to get to know each other even though our language was different.  Each lady made a very special necklace as a memory of her time here. Bishnu, Chaita and Laxman cooked our meal while we had fun and for some of us it was the first time we had eaten food prepared for us by a man!On Saturday which is our weekend (only one day in Nepal), the group are coming to visit us in Kalisthan at Kumari's house and we will eat sel roti and paint mehendi on their hands.  Today, it is back to work on our beads.  We have made so many beads and are very proud of them.  More photos of them soon!
